Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry for All Indian Students
The full form of APAAR ID card is Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry. It's a unique ID that captures the entire academic journey of students and is stored in one secure government-maintained database.
Introduced by the Ministry of Education and Government of India under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, this card contains a 12-digit APAAR number through which students can avail all benefits and hold academic records conveniently. It's directly connected to the Aadhaar card number.
Simple steps to get your APAAR ID
Visit the students' school for verification of demographic details. The school will verify your identity and initiate the APAAR ID creation process.
If the student is a minor, parental consent is essential. Get the parental consent form, fill it out, and submit it to the school. Parents can also download the form from the official website.
The student's identity will be verified by the school after receiving the consent form. The school then submits the information to the UDISE+ system for processing.
The Unified District Information System for Education (UDISE) generates the APAAR identity number. After verification, the APAAR ID is created and automatically stored in the student's DigiLocker account.
